She hopes to share the gift of yoga and its many benefits in her community. ![]() Del is passionate about yoga and living a life connected to the earth. This program focused on organic gardening, wildcrafting ethically and safely, harvesting and preserving herbs, integrating herbs for food and medicine, nutrition, and eating with the seasons to support us in our everyday life. Del has also completed a two-year program, Whole Living 1 and 2 (2018-2019) at Forrest Green Farm, Louisa, Va. As such, in March of 2018, Del completed a six-month Apprenticeship in the Art, Science and Ceremony of Herbal Medicine at Sacred Plant Traditions in Charlottesville, Va., A Center of Herbal Studies. A lifelong believer and practitioner of natural medicine, the welcoming and healing environment fostered by the GOZ community is a natural fit for Del's desires to merge yoga and herbal healing. Del is currently teaching in the Garden of Zen Yoga Teacher Training Program! In June of 2013, Del opened her own Yoga Studio here in Yorktown, VA – The Garden of Zen Yoga Studio. As Del specializes in Prenatal/Postpartum Yoga, she has also taught in a 300-hour level training in the local area. Beginning in 2011, she was one of the lead teachers in a local 200 hour yoga teacher training. During the past 18 years, she has attended many workshops and experienced many styles of Yoga. Del is also a Certified Booty Barre Instructor. ![]() She is also an RPYT (Registered Prenatal Teacher) through Om Mamma Prenatal School in Richmond as well as through a Yogafit training in Maryland. In August of 2010 she received her E-RYT (Experienced) Certification through Yoga Alliance. ![]() She received her 200 hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher certification with Yoga Alliance) from the Institute of Health and Healing in Newport News in 2006. Del has been teaching Yoga for 14 years and has been a student of yoga for over 18 years. Additionally, even physically-active individuals that want to cross train for their specific sport or hobby would benefit from private lessons, allowing the session to target sport-specific muscles and goals.Į-RYT 200, PRYT (Prenatal), YACEP Studio Owner. Who would benefit from private yoga lessons? Generally speaking, anyone and everyone would benefit from a private yoga lesson! Individuals that might be taking care of old or new injuries that might require one on one attention due to limitations, and those recovering from illness or serious health conditions might also consider this option. Benefits of a private yoga lesson include the specific asanas or poses tailored to your individual needs, on-going instruction and encouragement during your session and regular communication with your instructor, as well as elimination of feelings of intimidation during your practice. You will work one on one with your yoga instructor to improve posture and flexibility, correct muscular imbalances and alignment, build strength and balance, and even decrease tension through developing body awareness and relaxation techniques. Live-Stream "Fun-Size" TRX Sessions with Mary For ALL levels and all goals!! These TRX sessions are 30 minutes long which includes both TRX instruction and workout. I absolutely love it personally and I think the best parts about it are its accessibility, ability to adapt and tailor to each person's needs and general levels of fitness, and most important of all - the short duration of time required for stimulating muscle mass, strengthening the whole body to include the cardiovascular system, and in many cases - for total body toning and weight loss. Especially when it comes to personal training or even for small group exercise classes geared towards full body functional movement, core strength & in particular - for allowing a full body circuit workout without the need for much time or extra equipment! And Yes -it is an investment initially for purchasing your own TRX home suspension training system - but right away you will see for yourself that TRX is a genius and powerful tool for maintaining the whole body. Personal Training on the TRX with Mary Guys - this is my absolute favorite functional movement and full body (for all walks of life!) go-to for complementing a current yoga practice and/or exercise routine. ![]()
